Class Association: Membership

The UK IC Class Association is in practice the same body as the British Canoe Union (BCU) Sailing Section. Comprehensive Membership of the BCU (or Scottish Canoe Association, Welsh Canoe Association or Canoe Association of Northern Ireland) entitles a member to take part in all events organised under the auspices of the BCU Sailing Committee.

Application for membership should be made through the Hon. Secretary in order that IC sailors can be kept abreast of events of interest to them and receive copies of the Class Association Newsletter.

OBJECTIVES OF THE CLASS ASSOCIATION

  1. To promote and foster competitive canoe sailing.
  2. To manage and administer the affairs of the International Ten Square Metre Sailing Canoe Class, and other appropriate, recognised and approved competitive sailing canoe classes and interests throughout the United kingdom, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.
  3. To maintain a register of sailing canoes as at article 2 above.
  4. To select, train and administer teams to represent the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man at competitive canoe sailing events in the classes defined in Article 2.
  5. To liaise with the International Canoe Federation Sailing Committee on matters of international interest.

Subscription Rates for Comprehensive Membership (valid from 1 November 2004 to 31 October 2005): Adult: £35.00 Under 18s: £18.00

Application for Membership: All applications for membership must be forwarded through the Hon. Secretary in order that members can be added to the IC Class mailing list.
