Championships
and Open Meetings:
World
Championships are held every three years (next in 2008), and the Europa Cup is
held in non-World Championship years. The British National Championship is held
annually, and an Premier Open Meeting circuit at a variety of venues throughout
the UK is organised. Results from the National Championship and the Premier Open
Events are put towards an annual season long Travellers' Series. Details of events
are published in the Newsletter, Mailshots, Yachts and Yachting and this website.
Newsletters and Mailshots:
Newsletters are published 3 times a year, and mailshots are used to inform members
of other events and topics of interest between issues.
IC Plans:
Available from the Chief Measurer on payment of £25 to BCU Sailing Committee.
Canoe Sailing Rules, the complete guide to organisation of competitions and measurement of the IC: Available from Chief Measurer, Senior Measurer or Secretary on payment of £1 to BCU Sailing Committee.
Moulds:
There are a number of privately-owned moulds for the IC. Potential builders to
negotiate with owner.
Boat Registration and Measurement
Certificate:
New boats, including allocation of a number, from Registrations secretary (Phil
Allen, Tel 01243 641440 email chartswood@btopenworld.com)
on payment of £35 to BCU Sailing Committee.
Change of ownership, including issue of certificate in name of new owner, from Registrations Secretary (see above) on payment of £5 to BCU Sailing Committee.
Note that a Measurement Certificate is issued for an IC with a named owner, and requires to be renewed on change of ownership.
Boat and Sail Measurement:
Available from approved Class Measurers throughout the country. Fee (or donation
to charity) to be negotiated with measurer (recommended rate is £ 15/hour as
used by RYA):
Training and Boat Tuning:
Regular sail training and boat tuning clinics are
arranged
